scottvgc: Yeah he's one of those characters that don't really work if used too much.
scottvgc: So best to see him off while he's still funny.
scottvgc: Question: Surferdude: how long does it take to make 1 comic strip?
scottvgc: Depends on the comic.
scottvgc: If it's a short one I'll be done in about 2 days.
scottvgc: But for stuff like that bleach comic, it took almost a week.
scottvgc: Question: zombaluigi: Scott, you ever thought of trying any other genre of comic? What I mean is, something that isn't video game based?
scottvgc: If there's time check back later this year. :)
scottvgc: There's aslo 2 other projects I havn't announced yet.

scottvgc: Yeah, the Lucas Arts games are tough
scottvgc: Physconuts (not LA), Sam and max, Monkey Island.
scottvgc: The game is initself comedy.
scottvgc: So it's hard to build on that.
scottvgc: Since it's already done so well.
scottvgc: Question: Did you see yourself doing this as a child?
scottvgc: Ha, I wanted to be Pilot.

scottvgc: But I've been drawing for most of my life

scottvgc: Yeah I was in talks to make one last year.
scottvgc: But the idea of having people pay for the content was too much preasure.

scottvgc: Leo plushie got finalized last week.
scottvgc: It'll be avalivble in april.
scottvgc: Question: Luck: Do you have any other pets? If so, why aren't they in the comic?
scottvgc: Yeah, there's my cat Ronin and at my parents a Dog.
scottvgc: Kai, or satan incarnate.
scottvgc: A dog so active she injures herself monthly.
scottvgc: But no, Leo and Aeris will be it for pets in the comic.
scottvgc: Question: Spekkio: Have you ever considered releasing a comic book volume of VGCats?
scottvgc: Been redrawing the older strips for about a year and a half
scottvgc: Can't say anymore than that.
scottvgc: But if all goes well Check your local chapters this fall : )
scottvgc: Question: Surferdude: when making a comic, do u sit down and work on it strait or do u just do like a half an hour and stop?
scottvgc: Absolutley take breaks.
scottvgc: ussualy when my eyes satr to really hurt though
scottvgc: sometimes I'll be so into what I'm working on it'll be like "Oh hey that's the sun rising..." "... whoops"

scottvgc: Nope.
scottvgc: Actually I'll get the occasional nod and thanks from the publishers
scottvgc: Spore was the best reception I recived
scottvgc: Made the models of the characters in the comic. Got them sitting on my display case now.
scottvgc: Question: D. Wolfwood: Scott, I noticed early on, Your drawing style was a bit more aimed at being realistic, compared to now where everything is Chibi-ish. Was that an intentional change, or did it come with the evolution of your style?
scottvgc: It's just one of those things that happens naturally
scottvgc: Along the way I watch diffrent shows, read diffrent comic and try to adapt style chages.

scottvgc: Yes, God. Yes.
scottvgc: I'm very quick to hiut that delete button.
scottvgc: Question: Zanarias: How long do you expect VGCATS to continue? Would you like it to keep being produced as long as you live (well, maybe not that long) but for a good while longer, or are we nearing the end?
scottvgc: Simpsons, season 19 coming soon.
scottvgc: No, I'll probably stop at some point.
scottvgc: Question: Setsuna: Will there ever be any story-arcs in VGCats, or are you going to stick with one-shot strips for the foreseeable future?
scottvgc: I've thought about this. I may yet but not in the universe that exists now.
scottvgc: I'd like to readapt the characters into another story.
scottvgc: Question: (¤Marauder_44¤): what advice do you have for aspireing artists who have no clue where they should persue a career?
scottvgc: Get a job.
scottvgc: Any Job
scottvgc: Keep in mind up until 2 years ago I was in the workforce.
scottvgc: Of course it was a great motivator to pruse this full time.
scottvgc: Let me tell you, data sheet... EXCITMENT.

scottvgc: It's a matter of finding the time.
scottvgc: few seconds of animation is a few hours of work.
scottvgc: Question: [MØŁ†Ø\\/E]: What's your most remembered video game memory, and did you make a comic of it?
scottvgc: Booting up Zelda OoT on christmas day.
scottvgc: Just sitting there in awe.
scottvgc: It was almost cinimatic for the time.
scottvgc: I've made quite a few Zelda strips since then.
scottvgc: Question: Hell_Cat: I've noticed you've been writing a lot of Aeris comics spoofing on Fan-Girls why is that?
scottvgc: I know a few fan girls. They practically write themselves.
scottvgc: Still havn't worked Naruto Milk in there yet.
scottvgc: But I will.
scottvgc: Question: missil8: Because Zelda is one of your favourites, would you say your a nintendo fan moreso then other systems?
scottvgc: Probably.
scottvgc: Keep in mind my second favorite franchise is Metal Gear Solid
scottvgc: I mean I was rasied on Nintendo
scottvgc: But as long as there's a good game out there, I'll play it.

scottvgc: The games.

scottvgc: The first one will always be my favorite.

scottvgc: I loved the remake, Twin Snakes.

scottvgc: So much to love about that fight.
scottvgc: Just the idea of switchiung controllers was epic.

scottvgc: Very quite.

scottvgc: Question: WhiteNerd1337: What do you think of the new Nintendo Wii, do you think it will help America out with it's obesity problem?
scottvgc: I'm not sure about that.
scottvgc: I think a gym is a better option.
scottvgc: Still, I love the system.
scottvgc: I love how it plays and what it's doing.
scottvgc: I think one of the most telling ascpects of it was when I set one up at my parents for christmas
scottvgc: Right out of the box, who was playing it?
scottvgc: My mom and dad
scottvgc: Boxing.
scottvgc: And she kicked butt btw.
scottvgc: Question: Kinam: What is the average time it takes you to complete an average strip? What's the average time it takes you to think of a subject?
scottvgc: I've got a few "idea books"
scottvgc: most of them invovle random scribblings of stuff I find funny.
scottvgc: I play around with these idea until I have somthing I like.
scottvgc: Even then, like this week. I can throw it out at the last minute.
scottvgc: and start over.
scottvgc: I really like to be happy with a comic before I publish it.
scottvgc: I've rushed it before and hated the results.
scottvgc: Question: Retsu: what do you think if the illegal copy of the games and modding continue in the system? like the wii, theres mod to it already, do you think this gonna break the company of games? or they just keep making games and people making mod to the consoles?
scottvgc: Depends.
scottvgc: I don't think it has a very big impact
scottvgc: But I'll still buy my games
scottvgc: It's important to support the things you like.
scottvgc: I've got a modded PS2 but I only use it for imports.
scottvgc: Since Magic Swap is garbage.
scottvgc: Question: zombaluigi: I see you go outside the realm of video games from time to time, is it only when something really affects you?
scottvgc: Keeps it fresh for me.
scottvgc: I can get bored with videogames from time to time.
scottvgc: Question: Penty: What do you think of movies made from old comics, Ghostrider for exemple?
scottvgc: There really hasn't been a good licence game for a while.
scottvgc: Last good game I played that was based on a movie was Jurassic Park on Genisis.

scottvgc: It think it's great when the companies comply
scottvgc: I don't think we're ever going to see an easter egg like hot coffee again.
scottvgc: Question: Cc2 - PDCLanGaming.com: Have you ever been asked to be featured in a weekly paper's comics? If not, do you think you would accept their offer if they did in fact ask you to publish in their paper?
Question: scottvgc: There are a lot of university papers that run it unoffically

scottvgc: Not without blacking out the entire comic for content violations.

scottvgc: Nope.
scottvgc: I'd draw comic during lunch hour at work.
scottvgc: I'd update once a MONTH.

scottvgc: Yeahh, I think that is really becoming a problem.
scottvgc: As costs go up the ability to take risks go WAY down.
scottvgc: So you see less Katamaris, Elite Beats, etc..
scottvgc: Best place to find inovation now is on the DS or Wii.
scottvgc: Question: Jaillyn: You said earlier you might start some new projects, or work on a new comic entirely in the future. Would you ever join up with another comic artist to make these comics?
scottvgc: Yep.
scottvgc: As much as I like being involved as much as I can, it burns me out.

scottvgc: In the gutter with a spoon in my ear.

Question: scottvgc: Yeah, we can finally stop reading about him in blogs.

scottvgc: 80 is pushing it a bit
scottvgc: I don't mind buying new arcade games however
scottvgc: They've got some great stuff on XBL
scottvgc: But I can do without a new horse.
